Yankee Doodle Days is a community-based fair held each year in July at the Charlemont Fairgrounds in Charlemont, Massachusetts. Like many fairs, this is a weekend event, full of wonderful activities for children of all ages. Every single part of the fair is produced by dedicated and hard-working volunteers.
Whats up for 2017?
A one-day event, the 2017 fair will be held on Saturday, July 22nd. Already on the schedule are the Stoney Roberts Demolition Derby, Tom Ricardi's Birds of Prey, Jody Scalise the Motion Man, Ox Draw, Horse Draw, free games for children, and a music fest in the evening with square dancing in the Exhibit Hall. Keep watching for more details and talk to us about how you can get involved!
Throughout the year, the Friends of the Charlemont Fairgrounds host a variety of fundraising events to support the upkeep of the Fairgrounds. Yankee Doodle Days is the primary fundraiser for Friends of the Charlemont Fairgrounds, whose purpose is the maintaining and preservation of the grounds for all future community events. We take care of the Fairgrounds for the Fair and we are able to take care of the Fairgrounds because of the Fair.
Up next is a Community Wide Tag Sale and Flea Market on Saturday, May 27th (Memorial Day weekend) at Hicks Corn Maze Field on Route 2 near Burrington Road - Reserve a space here!
